EMMA FOFANAH

EMMA FOFANAh is a MBA graduate from The George Washington University School of Business. She has over ten-years of professional experience in sustainable investment and economic development. Prior to business school, she was a Sustainability Analyst at Calvert Investments, implementing Environmental Social and Governance (ESG) investment risk analysis and advocating for corporate social responsibility (CSR). In addition, Ms. Fofanah served as a Senior Research Analyst at RiskMetrics Group, where she managed the development of ESG investment screening products for institutional investors.

 

For the past five years, Ms. Fofanah has focused on developing an international focused career. She has lived and worked in six African countries and accumulated valuable work experiences in international development, private sector development; private equity; and small-and-medium sized enterprises (SMEs) advisory services. Currently, Ms. Fofanah is serving as a Project Manage at Airtel Sierra Leone; leading cross-functional telecommunications operations and cost efficiency initiatives.


As a native of Sierra Leone, Emma is passionate about contributing to the efforts of sustainable economic growth and poverty alleviation in sub-Saharan Africa (SSA), particularly with fragile Sates. As a returnee, Ms. Fofanah long term goal is to facilitate investments in many of the untapped sector opportunities in SSA. Ms. Fofanah’s current community service initiatives include serving as board member of non-profit organizations.
